GRACIELA GONZALEZ
I am the Second Grade Math/Science Dual Language teacher . Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Laredo, Texas a town that borders with Mexico. I’m so fortunate to be the first one in my family to graduate from college. I have two undergraduate degrees from Southwestern A/G University in Business Administration and Cross Cultural Communication. I have a Master’s in Bilingual Education from Southern Methodist University. I went through the Dallas Alternative Certification Program and got certified as a general and bilingual teacher for grades 1-6. I have been teaching for 20½ years 11 ½ as a bilingual classroom teacher, 5 years as a Dual Language teacher, and 4 years as a Response to Intervention teacher in the area of Reading. I have always taught in a Title 1 school and have experience with K thru 5. I have taught adult ESL classes and conducted educational workshops for parents at school. I assisted some new teachers with Reading interventions, guided reading, writing, discipline, centers, and even setting up the classrooms. I have provided training for teachers and parents at school and have also mentored a teacher going through the Region 10 alternative certification program. My experience is mostly with elementary students but I have experience with youth at church. I have been a youth pastor and a women’s leader in the past. I have a Texas real estate license. My personal goal is to be a role model to children and adults and instill in them that anything is attainable in life even if life is a bit bumpy. I am very blessed and fortunate to be part of College Hills family, and I love what I do! |
